The Cotswold Water Park is one of the most distinctive landscapes in the southern Cotswolds. Stretching across more than forty square miles between Cirencester and South Cerney, the area is made up of over 150 lakes surrounded by nature reserves, walking trails and waterside communities.

Originally created from gravel extraction, the lakes have gradually become a unique environment where wildlife, outdoor recreation and quiet residential areas sit side by side. Today the Water Park offers a very different experience from the traditional Cotswold villages, combining open water, wide skies and easy access to outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and wild swimming.

Many visitors choose to stay here because of the sense of space and calm that the lakes provide. Early mornings often bring mist rising from the water and birdlife across the reed beds, while evenings can be spent on lakeside decks watching the light change across the water.

We moved to the area in 2014 after falling in love with the area following many visits in the previous years. Read more about our story here and more about our journey in our about page.
