Holiday Accommodation in the Cotswolds. Chosen carefully.

Cotswold holidays look different depending on where you stay and what you are actually looking for. The region spans four counties, over 800 square miles, and everything from honey-coloured market towns to open lakeside countryside. Be.Here. keeps things simple: a small, considered collection of properties, each one earning its place.

Whether you are after a private glamping pod with a hot tub near Upper Minety, a lodge sitting directly on one of the Cotswold Water Park’s 150-plus lakes, or something quieter and off the grid, the collection is built around one idea. Arrive, and everything is already taken care of. This is your invitation to press pause in the Cotswolds.

Three ways to spend your Cotswold holidays

The Cotswolds offers a collection of very different landscapes, each with its own character. Be.Here. properties are grouped into three types of experience, so it’s easier to find what you’re actually looking for.

On the Water

Lakeside holiday accommodation at the Cotswold Water Park, with over thirty lodges sitting directly on private lakes. Pciture paddleboarding from the terrace. Kayaking at dusk. Soaking in the Hot Tub. The kind of setting that makes mornings feel different. The Cotswold Water Park covers over 40 square miles and more than 150 lakes, making it one of the most distinctive places to stay in the south of England.

Off the Grid

Rural retreats built for people who want to properly disconnect. Private hot tubs, open skies, and very little asking for your attention. The glamping site at Upper Minety falls here, four pods each with its own hot tub, set in open Cotswold countryside with minimal light pollution and direct access to footpaths. It is one of the few glamping sites in the Cotswolds where genuine quiet is part of what you are booking..

In the Neighbourhood

Village-based stays within walking distance of independent shops, proper pubs, and Cotswolds village life at its most familiar. A different pace from the lakeside properties, and just as considered. Market towns like Cirencester and Burford are within easy reach, each worth a morning on foot. There’s something about the fire pit, the quiet, and the absence of anywhere else you need to be makes it difficult to go inside.

The best time to visit the Cotswolds

Cotswold holidays  works in every season. Each one changes the landscape without diminishing it. There is never a wrong time to explore the area, only different reasons to, and more to fall in love with each time.

Spring – March to May

Wildflowers, lighter footpaths, and quieter villages before the summer crowds arrive. Walking conditions at their best. The Cotswold Way and Thames Path are at their most rewarding in April and May, when the hedgerows are coming back and the fields are open. Accommodation books out faster than most people expect, so planning ahead is worthwhile, particularly around Easter and the May bank holidays.

Summer – June to August

Long evenings, outdoor dining, and village life at its most active. The busiest period, particularly around August bank holiday. The light in the evenings is worth staying up for, and the longer days make it easy to cover a lot of ground. Book well in advance for July and August, especially for weekends and school holidays. Availability moves quickly at this time of year.

Autumn – September to November

Golden light on the stone, empty country lanes, and wood fires from October. Many guests consider this the best season for atmosphere. The villages are quieter, the walking is excellent, and a private hot tub under clear autumn skies is genuinely difficult to improve on. The colours help too. October in particular strikes a balance between warmth and atmosphere that summer rarely matches with beautiful sunsets.

Winter – December to February

Frost on the limestone walls, Christmas markets in the Cotswolds, and the quietest, most atmospheric time to visit. The Cotswolds in winter rewards guests who make the effort. Pubs are fuller, slower, and better. The landscape is stripped back, yet still beautiful to explore. And there is something about climbing into a hot tub when the temperature has dropped that makes everything else feel like the right decision.

Planning your Cotswolds holiday

The Be.Here. collection

Be.Here. manages a small collection of Cotswolds holiday accommodation across two locations: the Cotswold Water Park near South Cerney, and the glamping site at Upper Minety on the edge of the Cotswolds AONB. Every property is fully managed to the same standard. Nothing is left to chance.

A weekend in the Cotswolds, or longer?

Three to five days is the sweet spot for most visits. A weekend in the Cotswolds gives enough time to properly settle, explore the local villages, do a couple of long walks, find a good pub, and feel the pace change. It also gives you at least one morning where the right decision is simply staying put, making coffee, and going nowhere at all. Just ask yourself, when was the last time you really paused?

Last minute Cotswolds breaks

Last minute availability does come up, particularly midweek. Be.Here. manages its own bookings directly, which means short-notice enquiries are always worth making. Cotswolds last minute breaks are more achievable than most guests expect, especially outside of peak school holiday dates.

Can you help me plan?

Yes. The team at Be.Here. knows the area well and is happy to help you make the most of it. Good walks that start from the door, local restaurants worth booking ahead, villages most guests never find on their own. Whether you are planning a couple of days or a full week, just ask. Consider it part of the stay.

Getting to the Cotswolds from London

London to the Cotswolds is a straightforward journey and one of the reasons the region works so well for a short break. Kemble station serves the southern Cotswolds, with direct trains from London Paddington in just over an hour.

  • London Paddington to Kingham: approximately 90 minutes by train
  • London Paddington to Kemble: just over 1 hour by train
  • Central London to the Cotswolds by car: under 2 hours via the M40
