Your Hot Tub Questions, Answered
From what to pack to whether the tubs are private, here’s what our guests ask us most often.

Are all hot tubs private?

Yes, all of our hot tubs are for your exclusive use. Whether you’re staying in a lodge or glamping pod, your hot tub is private and professionally cleaned before you arrive.

Are the hot tubs ready to use when we arrive?

We try our best and generally succeed. All hot tubs are thoroughly cleaned and pre-heated before check-in, so you can normally jump in as soon as you arrive. Sometimes though its still coming up to temperature so may be a couple of degrees below optimum

Do you have lodges with hot tubs for couples?

Yes — we have several romantic retreats with hot tubs perfect for two, including Willow, Foxes Den, and Waterlily. Peaceful, private, and made for switching off.

Are there hot tub lodges suitable for families or groups?

Absolutely. Larger properties like Serendipity and At Waters Edge are great for families or groups. The hot tubs are spacious, and some are under cover — ideal for year-round use.

How often are the hot tubs cleaned?

We take hot tub hygiene seriously. Each hot tub is cleaned and chemically balanced between every stay. We will also visit during your stay to top up your chemicals and hot tub if necessary although we provide a hot water fill for you to also do that yourself if necessary..

What should I wear in the hot tub?

Hot tubs have a high level of chemicals necessary to cope with large groups in a relatively small space but we will always maintain them at the recommended level.

  • Bring an older or inexpensive swimsuit for hot tub use.

  • Avoid wearing freshly washed items with fabric softener — it reacts with bromine.

  • Rinse swimwear in cold water only, not hot, and let it air dry away from sunlight.

  • Stick to light or neutral colours if you’re worried about fading.

  • Never wear jewellery in any hot tub.
